Martin Quiazon  > Photography > Olympus OM-1MD
I acquired an Olympus OM-1MD and 50mm f/1.8 from KEH. It's an all-mechanical wonder that requires no batteries to operate, except for the center-weighted Cds light meter. I'm too lazy and cheap to retrofit the meter to work with alkaline replacements for the outlawed PX625 mercury battery, so all exposures are guessed using the Sunny 16 rule. Scanned with a Canon Pixma MP970.

Martin Quiazon > Focus was sometimes difficult using focusing screen 1-1. I ended up scouring eBay for the standard OM focusing screen, 1-13, which has a split image prism that is much easier for me to focus reliably.
Martin Quiazon > I am not a fan of how much grainier Fuji's 800-speed Superia is versus the 400-speed variety. Color rendition is very different as well.
