Martin Quiazon  > Photography > Minolta Hi-Matic 9
Emboldened by the purchase of the Yashica Electro 35 GSN, I found another little gem for cheap on eBay, the Minolta Hi-Matic 9. Sadly, it arrived with a non-functioning shutter. Despite two trips to the repair shop, on a good day it only fires intermittently. The 45mm lens was not quite wide enough for my taste, so it's probably just as well.

Martin Quiazon > Sharp results stopped down at f/8.
Martin Quiazon > A bit flare-y and consequently low-contrast in the original, but some levels tweaking makes short work of that.
Martin Quiazon > Close focus on the flower and an aperture of f/4 leaves Nobili Hall pleasantly blurred.
Martin Quiazon > Background blur at f/5.6 is nice; the original was very low-contrast, so I felt like it needed punching up. I don't know if the low contrast is down to the lens or to bad scan settings.
Martin Quiazon > Again, I had a low-contrast original, but it took postprocessing well. Very pleasant out-of-focus areas. Kathleen and Jane really pop out of the background.
